I've switched to Firefox 3.5.3 on Ubuntu from Firefox 3.1 and I was surprised how fast and optimized the new Firefox is. Jeg har byttet til Firefox 3.5.3 på Ubuntu fra Firefox 3.1 og jeg ble overrasket over hvor raskt og optimalisert det nye Firefox er. When browsing with several (more than 10) tabs at once with Firefox 3.1, RAM usage went up to 1.3 GB!! Når du surfer med flere (mer enn 10) faner samtidig med Firefox 3.1, gikk RAM behandling opptil 1,3 GB! That is why I had to upgrade my PC with 2 more GB of RAM. Det er derfor jeg måtte oppgradere min PC med ytterligere 2 GB RAM.
Now I can open as many tabs I want with Firefox 3.5.3 (though I never tried to do it with more than 20 tabs at once), but the RAM usage will never exceed 400MB. PS to Ubuntu people: Firefox 3.5.3 is still not officially available in the Ubuntu distro. PS til Ubuntu personer: Firefox 3.5.3 er fortsatt ikke offisielt tilgjengelig i Ubuntu distro. Firefox 3.5 will be officially supported in the 9.10 version Karmic Koala. Firefox 3.5 vil bli offisielt støttet i 9.10 versjonen Karmisk Koala.
