ATI sucks, for real! ATI sucks, reālā!

Definitely an nVidia graphic card. Noteikti NVIDIA grafikas kartes. Why? Kāpēc? Because AMD is very frivolous when it comes to support its legacy video cards. Jo AMD ir ļoti vieglprātīgs, kad runa ir atbalstīt tās mantotajai video kartes. I don't think that a 3 years old video card should be considered obsolete, and dropped being supported. Es nedomāju, ka 3 gadus veca video karte ir uzskatāms par novecojušu, un samazinājās to atbalstīja. I am an unlucky ATI card user (Radeon x1950 GT) that runs only on 10% of this chipset's performance. Even though there are the open source drivers for video cards that are no longer supported by AMD, these still do not compare with the official fglrx driver. This driver will not work under Karmic Koala, because it needs a Linux kernel of version 2.6.28, whereas Karmic is built on Linux kernel 2.6.31. Draiveris nestrādās ar karmisko Koala, jo tai nepieciešams Linux kodola 2.6.28 versija, bet karmisko balstās uz Linux kodolu 2.6.31. One note: do not try to downgrade your Linux kernel on Karmic in order to use the fglrx driver unless you're a very experienced Linux user. One note: nemēģinātu pazemināt jūsu Linux kodolu uz karmisko, lai varētu lietot fglrx draiveris, ja vien jūs esat ļoti pieredzējis Linux lietotājs. It's just that you have a very high probability to damage your system. Tas ir tikai tas, ka jums ir ļoti liela varbūtība, lai bojājumus jūsu sistēmai.

Why nVidia then? Kāpēc nVidia tad? Because the developers from nVidia do really care of their products and their clients and you will find much better driver support from them than from ATI AMD. Jo no nVidia attīstītāji do patiesi rūpējas par savu produktu un to klientiem, un jūs atradīsiet daudz labāk, autovadītāja palīgierīcēm no tām nevis no ATI AMD. Unless you are planning to buy the latest super-puper model video card model from ATI, do consider getting an nVidia one. Ja Jūs plānojat iegādāties jaunāko super-puper modeli, video kartes modeli no ATI, uzskatu iegūt nVidia vienu. You'll save time and some nerves (but not money, AFAIK). Jūs ietaupīsiet laiku un dažas nervu (bet ne naudas, AFAIK).

3000FPS from glxgears with such great specs? 3000FPS no glxgears ar šādu liels specs? That is shi*ty performance if you ask me. Kas ir shi * ty veiktspēju, ja tu man jautā. On Intrepid Ibex (when fglrx was still supported) I was getting 120K+ FPS.. Par Intrepid Ibex (kad fglrx vēl bija supported) man bija panākt, 120K + FPS .. And yes, for Linux gamers, Nexuiz is slow at times and crashes when playing with an ATI card in combination with the open-source drivers. Un jā, Linux Gamers, Nexuiz ir lēns tajā laikā un avārijām, kad spēlējas ar ATI karti kopā ar atvērtā koda draiverus.
