In this tutorial we're going to apply a pattern to a custom selection. Neste titorial, imos aplicar un defecto a unha selección personalizada. I chose to apply the US flag to a custom selection made to fit the US territory on the map. Optei por aplicar o pavillón E.U. a unha selección feita baixo encomenda para se axustar ao territorio E.U. no mapa.

Now, with the help of the Lasso Tool I made the custom selection to “fit” the US territory. Agora, coa axuda da ferramenta Lasso eu fixen a selección personalizada para "encaixar" o territorio E.U..

Probably you have noticed that the custom selection contains the surrounding oceans also. Probablemente ten que ter notado que a selección personalizada contén os océanos arredor tamén. To eliminate the waters from the selection I use the Magic Wand tool. Para eliminar as augas da selección eu uso a ferramenta Magic Wand. With the left Alt key pressed I removed the transparent pixels from the selections (these are the waters). Coa tecla Alt esquerdo premido tirei os píxeles transparentes das seleccións (estas son as augas). So now I end up with this selection, which is much better: Entón agora eu acabar con esta selección, que é moito mellor:

Now right click on the custom selection and select Layer via copy . Agora prema co botón dereito sobre a selección personalizada e seleccione Layer vía copy. A new layer will be created containing the custom shape (in my case the territory of the US). Unha nova capa será creada contendo o formato personalizado (no meu caso, o territorio de os E.U.).

Now right click on the new layer and select Blending Options . Agora prema co botón dereito na nova capa e seleccione Blending Options.

Now click on Pattern overlay from the new window. Agora pulsa en superposición estándar da nova ventá.

Now select the Pattern picker . Agora selecciona o seletor de estándares.

Now select your preffered pattern. Agora selecciona o seu estándar desexado. I chose the US flag pattern. Eu escollín o estándar bandeira E.U..

Now scale the pattern to best fit your layer. Agora, a escala patrón para mellor atender a súa capa.

Click Ok to dismiss the Blending Options window. Prema en Aceptar para pechar a fiestra Blending Options.

Save your settings Gardar a configuración

Now select both layers in order to merge them. Agora seleccione as dúas capas, a fin de unificalos las. Click on one of them, then by pressing the CTRL key, choose the second one. Prema nun deles, a continuación, preme a tecla CTRL, escolla o segundo.

Now right click on any one of the two layers and select Merge Layers . Agora, prema co botón dereito en calquera das dúas capas e seleccione Unir capas.

That's it! That's it! For a better look I added the Drop shadow effect to the layer. Para unha mellor mirar Eu engade o efecto de sombra para a capa.
