I've switched to Firefox 3.5.3 on Ubuntu from Firefox 3.1 and I was surprised how fast and optimized the new Firefox is. When browsing with several (more than 10) tabs at once with Firefox 3.1, RAM usage went up to 1.3 GB!! En navegar amb diversos (més de 10) pestanyes alhora amb Firefox 3.1, ús de la RAM es va ser de fins a 1,3 GB!! That is why I had to upgrade my PC with 2 more GB of RAM. Per això vaig haver d'actualitzar el meu PC amb altres 2 GB de RAM.
Now I can open as many tabs I want with Firefox 3.5.3 (though I never tried to do it with more than 20 tabs at once), but the RAM usage will never exceed 400MB. Ara puc obrir tantes pestanyes que vulgui amb Firefox 3.5.3 (encara que mai he tractat de fer-ho amb més de 20 pestanyes alhora), però l'ús de la RAM mai no podrà excedir el 400 MiB. That's a whopping decrease in RAM usage with 70%. Aquesta és una enorme disminució en l'ús de memòria RAM de 70%.
Kudos to Mozilla developers who keep improving the best browser ever existing. Kudos als desenvolupadors de Mozilla de seguir millorant el millor navegador cada vegada que comencen.
PS to Ubuntu people: Firefox 3.5.3 is still not officially available in the Ubuntu distro. PS a la gent d'Ubuntu: Firefox 3.5.3 encara no està oficialment disponible a la distro de Ubuntu.
