Ubuntu: How to check hard disk healthiness based on SMART data (Karmic Koala)
Posted on 06. Oct, 2009 by Dragos in Operating Systems, Ubuntu
I remember that a good application on Windows was HDD Doctor, which gave a plenitude of useful information about the hard disk status. Now in Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 there is a similar application which shows important information about the status of the hard-disk installed on the system (such as hard disk temperature, model number, total uptime, bad sectors…). To check out this nifty utility, go to System->Administration->Disk Utility.
