OS Hacks: Installing Mac OSx 10.6.1 on Toshiba Satellite A300

Unfortunately not all Toshiba A300 models are supported by Mac. The only thing that you will not find is the kext for the graphic card (in case it’s integrated Intel chipset). If your card is nvidia, you have more chances of finding a kext for your video card. I suggest you visit hackint0sh.com for more details and support. For my Toshiba Satellite A300-02W I was unable to find any driver for the video card (Intel gm4500).

However, I gave Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty a try on my Toshiba laptop. Suprisingly it works like a charm, and believe me or not it looks way too better than a MacBook Pro. If you miss the dock from the OSx, just search for Cairo-Dock on Ubuntu. Cairo-Dock is much better and more customizable than the inbuilt Mac dock. Also, there are few chances that Ubuntu will fail to install on your laptop, as it supports a wide range of hardware devices.
Why most people think Mac is better than any other OS? The answer is obvious – marketing. Here’s a proof of that:
