Digg: new marketing technique. Selling ad space among other stories and promoting sponsored stories

Digg has recently came up with an interesting marketing technique: selling ad space among other displayed stories. There’s nothing special with with the sponsored story, except that it is emphasized from the other stories with top & bottom borders and an above text stating which company sponsored the story.
The sponsored story, usually appears as the third one in the list, so it’s easily noticed by the public. Here’s a screen-shot featuring a story sponsored by Amazon:
